Responsibility of village police
One of the responsibilities of the Union Parishad is to provide security to the people and their belongings in the rural areas. Each Union Parishad has appointed Mahalladars and Dafadars to perform this duty. The job of the mahalladars and dafadars is to provide security in the villages and mahallas of the union and to help the police in curbing crime as much as possible. In case of any suspicious person or any reason for disturbing the peace in the union, the mahalladar and dafadar will inform the OC of the police station and report to him at least once in 15 days. If there is a threat of any kind of epidemic in the Union or if there is any possibility of any damage to any dam or irrigation project or if any property of the Union Parishad is misappropriated, the Union Parishad should be informed immediately. In addition, the public or mahalladars and dafadars will inform the union council if they face any loss of railway line, telephone or telegram or electric line, tubewell and other government property. Accordingly, the Union Parishad will inform the concerned authorities. In some cases, the mahalladars and dafadars may make arrests without a magistrate's order or warrant, such as if someone commits a crime that is out of court, or if someone has a saddle device or stolen goods, or if someone escapes from prison and goes into hiding in the village, but is handed over to the police station Have to.
